Post-Endodontic Treatment Instructions
- Root canal treatment is often followed by a feeling of severe to moderate pain after the local anesthetic wears off for 3-4 days.
- Medications prescribed by the treating physician must be taken carefully.
- You should avoid chewing on the tooth that has had its nerves removed for a full week to avoid tooth breakage or inflammation of the ligaments of the treated tooth.
- The tooth must be filled with a permanent filling and consultation must be given regarding the need to place a ceramic crown to protect it from cracking and breakage.
